Walk-in Service

The Writing Center is located in Folwell 34A. Walk-in consultations will be kept brief if there is a high demand for appointments. See schedule above.

Service by Appointment

Appointments can be made by calling ONE DAY IN ADVANCE of the desired appointment by calling The Writing Center (612) 624-8523 , or by calling the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies main office at (612) 625-5858 or visiting the main office in Folwell 51.

Consultations can be arranged for up to 30 minutes.

Students attempting to make same day appointments must go (in person) to the main office in Folwell 51 to see if and when a consultant will be available. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee these requests will be accommodated.

Submit Your Paper

Spanish Help Online for Writers: Submit your paper via email to Maria Emilce Lopez at lopez008@umn.edu MUST write down a full description of what you want the consultant to do. Please allow AT LEAST 48 hours for a response.

Finals Week Service

During finals, consultations will be held BY APPOINTMENT ONLY from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This doesn't apply to the May and Summer sessions.

Who We Serve

The Writing Center serves Spanish and/or Portuguese majors and minors or any student enrolled in a 3000-level course that is primarily taught in Spanish.
